Celebrating One Year of Hannah Collins Unlimited!
One year ago, I opened the doors to Hannah Collins Unlimited, stepping out of a 17‑year career in sustainability, research and public engagement, and into the most stretching, energising and affirming chapter of my professional life so far.
I didn’t know then just how transformative this year would be. What I did know was that I wanted to help ambitious sustainability and science engagement leaders and teams maximise their impact so they can create lasting change for nature, climate and people. That purpose has guided me ever since.

As I celebrate one year of this business, I’m filled with gratitude for the people who trusted me, the leaders and teams who invited me into their work, and the experiences that shaped the programmes now proudly sitting on my new website.
From Science to Strategy... and Now to Coaching & Facilitation
My journey began in a laser lab, but it has evolved across 18+ years in sustainability and environment research, policy, strategy and engagement. My experience has taught me that we need influential leadership, impactful engagement and effective collaboration (alongside great science) to create lasting change for nature, climate and people. Those years taught me how people and systems work, how change happens (and how it doesn’t), and what it takes to lead with courage and care in complex environments. They also shaped the purpose that now sits at the heart of my work (read more in my About Me pages).

This past year, I’ve poured everything I learned from challenges, partnerships, stretches and successes, into building a practice that blends:
lived leadership experience
deep sector knowledge
a science‑led methodology
and rigorous, globally recognised coaching training
That training includes one of the achievements I’m most proud of this year: completing the Professional Certificate in Executive Coaching from Henley Business School, a globally respected, triple‑accredited coaching qualification. A real mark of quality and experience that shapes every programme I now offer, and the impact clients experience.
What This Year Looked Like
When I gather up everything that’s happened in the last 12 months, it feels extraordinary.
I’ve built a thriving business from the ground up, coaching 90+ hours with brilliant leaders, supporting teams across UKCEH, NERC and beyond, and facilitating sustainability and science workshops with partners from ELSP Cambridge to ASDC. I’ve stepped into Associate roles in Team Performance Coaching and Science Public Dialogue Facilitation, supported causes close to my heart such as EarthWatch, taken risks, learned fast, celebrated every win and built an incredible community who’ve championed me all the way.
Through it all, I’ve learned that even without a big title or huge budget, I have so much to offer: skills, intuition and experience built over a lifetime.
How This Year Shaped the Programmes on My New Website
All this incredible growth and experience has directly informed the three core offers now live on my website. They’re grounded in real conversations, real teams, real complexity and real change, and I'm so proud to launch them!
So many of the leaders I’ve coached this year have been navigating complexity, scrutiny and high expectations, often with limited resources and little support. That’s why my 1:1 Executive Coaching programme is designed specifically for sustainability and science engagement leaders. My coaching helps leaders believe in themselves, trust their instincts, and lead with authenticity and impact, even in uncertainty and pressure.
Clients tell me they feel more grounded, more confident and more able to communicate clearly and assertively:
“From our first session, I noticed a shift in my approach… I built confidence in high‑pressure situations and started communicating more clearly and assertively.”
This year of coaching has shaped a flagship programme that blends science‑led methodology with lived leadership experience, helping leaders move from ambition to measurable action. Click the image to explore my 1:1 Executive Coaching offer in more detail...
My wealth of experience building and supporting teams to thrive, and leading organisational change programmes throughout my career shaped my support over the last year of team and cohort coaching clients. I've distilled this experience into my Team & Cohort Coaching programme offer, which supports teams to:
build shared purpose
strengthen collaboration
navigate complexity together
and create real‑world impact for nature, climate and people
“Expertly structured, interactive, engaging… Hannah encouraged open dialogue, alignment and collaboration across the team, resulting in a shared sense of purpose and renewed motivation.”
Teams need spaces to think clearly together, be honest, align, and grow. That’s exactly what my programmes deliver. Click the image to discover my Team and Cohort Coaching in more detail...
Facilitating sustainability and science engagement workshops this year, from strategy days to multi‑stakeholder dialogues, has reinforced something I’ve always believed:
Confident, well‑designed facilitation builds stronger collaboration, clearer direction and greater impact for nature, climate and people.
I design transformative environments where sustainability, science, policy and engagement professionals can think clearly together, connect and collaborate. Clients consistently highlight the outcomes:
“An engaging, inclusive workshop that delivered excellent outcomes and glowing feedback.”
"There was resounding praise for her facilitation skills.”

A Year of Real Impact, and the Beginning of What’s Next
This year has been exposing, thrilling, heart‑warming and very REAL! I’ve learned more about myself, my craft and my purpose than I ever expected.
Most importantly, I’ve seen, again and again, that confident leaders strengthen teams and organisations, and amplify impact for nature, climate and people. That belief underpins everything on my new website, and everything I’ll continue to build in year two.
To everyone who has been part of this year thank you. Here’s to year two, with courage, determination and a whole lot of excitement for what’s next!
