Looking Forward: A year ahead rooted in Values

As Hannah Collins Unlimited steps into its second year, I’ve been reflecting on what will guide me, in the work I deliver and also in how I grow the business itself...

Vision board for year 2 of Hannah Collins Unlimited

Year one was my 'year of experimentation': testing ideas, refining my offer, learning from clients, and discovering what truly energises me. It was a year of saying "yes", trying things on for size, and letting the practice take shape through doing the work.

Year two feels more intentional, focused and grounded in the values that have surfaced organically through the first year of coaching, facilitation, research, reflection and being 100% 'me'.

These values have shown up over and over, in how I partner with clients, the sectors I've chosen to work in (research, science engagement, and sustainability) and the kind of impact I want to help create for nature, climate and people. And they’re shaping where I put my energy for the next year:

Impact for nature, climate and people

This remains my anchor. My work exists to strengthen the leadership and collaboration needed to create meaningful, long-term change. In year two, I’m focusing my energy where that potential is strongest: with sustainability, and science‑engagement leaders and teams who are ready to move from good intentions to purposeful action.

Integrity and grounded professionalism

This year, I reach a huge milestone that means a great deal: I’m on on the cusp of the 100‑hour coaching mark, enabling me to apply for the next level of accreditation. It’s a moment of pride, reflecting the depth of practice, reflection and commitment I bring to this work. This, coupled with my wealth of experience as a sustainability and science engagement leader, is the foundation of my work, and why people choose to work with me.

Partnership and shared purpose

The leaders and teams I work with are navigating complexity, urgency and responsibility. My role is to be a partner, someone who listens, challenges thoughtfully, and helps them align around what matters. To strengthen this, I’ll be focusing my continuous professional development investment this year on expanding the tools and approaches I bring into 1:1 and team coaching and leadership development.

Courage and stretch

If year one was about experimenting, year two is about deliberate growth: I’m investing in the roots and structures that will help Hannah Collins Unlimited become a sustainable, thriving business, including completing a business development course to evolve my offer, expand the canopy of my reach, and ensure I can support more leaders doing vital work.

This is also where my new website comes in: this year, I will stretch myself to further develop the branches of this platform to reflect the depth of my practice and guide readers through an organic journey of getting to know me, my approach and my services. Who knows? Perhaps, by the end of the year, it will be a home for programmes, resources and webinars too??

Care and humanity

This value sits at the heart of how I work, and who I choose to work with. It shapes the tone of my coaching, the way I hold space in facilitation, and the sectors I focus on. Leaders working to maximise impact for nature, climate and people carry both ambition and burden. My commitment is to create spaces where they can think, reconnect with purpose, and move forward with confidence.

Clear vision, purposeful action and fun!

This is the thread running through everything I’m cultivating for year two:

  • A clearer sense of where the business can have the greatest impact.

  • Optimising my intentional approach to how I spend my time and energy.

  • My commitment to building the foundations that will sustain the work for years to come, including a thriving community of peers.

  • Fun - because, I really enjoy what I do!

The wood for the trees?

This little copse I'm tending is really all about focus, depth, rooting and nurturing the things that will allow Hannah Collins Unlimited to grow in a way that is values-led, sustainable, impactful and joyful!

And at its core, it’s about doing (and enjoying) more of the work that matters most: coaching and facilitating sustainability and science‑engagement leaders and their teams so that together, we can create lasting change for nature, climate and people.

Here’s to a year of clear vision, purposeful action and fun - cheers!
