Sustainability isn't one agenda, it's five!

Sustainability is often spoken about as if it’s one thing: a single strategy, a single priority, a single team’s responsibility. But in every workshop, leadership session and coaching conversation I run, a different picture emerges: The work is broader, more interconnected, and far more human than a single agenda can hold.
This insight guide introduces a simple reflection toolkit built around five interconnected agendas. Each one shapes impact in a different way, influencing how teams collaborate, where energy flows, and how change takes root.
When teams explore these agendas together, they:
see their work in a wider context.
spot natural win–wins.
recognise where strengths already exist (and where attention is needed).
The weight of driving change begins to feel shared, not carried by one or two individuals.
This toolkit is designed to help you create that same clear vision and momentum in your own organisation. It’s not a diagnostic or a scorecard. It’s a way of widening the lens so you can see the full landscape of your impact, and make more intentional, collaborative choices about where to go next.
Use it as a conversation starter, a team reflection, or a way to reconnect with the purpose behind your sustainability work.
Ask yourselves:
Which of the five agendas are you or your organisation under-investing in?
What small shift could unlock trust, collaboration and shared ownership?
However you approach it, my hope is that it helps you build the trust, alignment and shared ownership that meaningful progress depends on.
