Mid year review moment!

Updated: Sep 16

The last few months have been some of the most transformative of my professional life. After 17 years in a career rooted in science, strategy, and leadership, I took the leap to become self-employed – launching Hannah Collins Unlimited - my coaching and facilitation practice. It's been a time of learning, risk-taking, and deep connection, guided by both bravery and curiosity. I’ve found myself building something meaningful from the ground up: committing to new ways of working, meeting extraordinary people, and shaping opportunities that really resonate.

Today, I took a moment to acknowledge all the layered moments that, together, have got me this far. Their quiet significance and hopeful energy is fuelling me to go forth and deliver my plans for the second half of the year!

🎉 A Season of Courage, Creativity & Connection: Hannah Collins Unlimited Comes to Life

1.      💼 Took one of the bravest steps of my career—leaving a 17+ year path to become self-employed and explore a new direction.

  1. 🎓 Signed up for Henley Business School’s Professional Certificate in Executive Coaching and started learning alongside an inspiring cohort 🤩

  2. 🚀 Launched Hannah Collins Unlimited on LinkedIn, updated my profile, and began sharing what I’m building.

  3. 📝 Registered the business, got insured, and worked through the logistics to set things up properly.

  4. 💝 Offered a coaching raffle prize for the Kingshott School community, raising money for the Natasha Allergy Research Foundation.

  5. 🔗 Reconnected with contacts and started growing a new network, one conversation at a time.

  6. ✨ Began meeting potential clients - both 1:1 and group - and feeling encouraged by the meaningful opportunities ahead.

  7. 💸 Set initial pricing structures to reflect the value of the work, investment in a high quality product and create a sustainable foundation.

  8. 🌿 Designed my first group sessions to help businesses connect with environmental scientists.

  9. 🤝 Crafted my first team coaching sessions to support new ways of working in a changing organisation.

  10. 🥾 Joined the Source to Sea Walk with fellow coaches—Ellie, Jonathan, Ann, Miriam, Marc, Melissa, Amy Beth, Lara and others - whose generosity and insight stayed with me.

  11. 🌳 Took part in Coaching Outdoors Live, deepening my understanding of what coaching means to me. Special thanks to Paul, Anna-Marie, Lizzie, Karen, Jackee, Diana, and Sam for sparking my curiosity, and facilitating some real development!

  12. 🌍 Facilitated the second day of the Physiological Society’s Climate and Health Summit working with the Association of Facilitators - connecting my science background and facilitation practice.

  13. 🌸 Had the privilege of coaching new clients, both online and in some beautiful outdoor settings.

  14. ✅ Approved as a coach by an organisation I really admire.

  15. 💰 Received first payments - a moment that made this all feel very real.

  16. 🔮 Saw exciting collaboration ideas begin to surface. Early days, but full of promise!

  17. 🌐 Launched my website - a place that shares what I do, and is so completely, authentically ‘me’.

  18. 🌍Joined the Climate Coaching Alliance to share my experience at the heart of environmental science leadership, and learn from an inspirational community of like-minded coaches.

  19. 🎓 Completed the taught component of my Henley coaching certificate—a milestone I’m so proud to have reached with such a wonderful cohort.

  20. 📑LEARNT so much about working in and on my business – standing me in excellent stead for what’s to come!

💐Thank You to my first clients & looking ahead

One of the most meaningful parts of this journey has been the trust placed in me by the clients who’ve chosen to work together in these early months. Their generosity in sharing feedback has been such a boost—reminding me of why I have chosen to do this and the difference I can make. Every golden nugget of feedback has helped me grow.

Here are just a few reflections that have stayed with me:

💬“Hannah’s greeting, joy and supportive comments throughout were really warm and put me at ease.”

💬“Hannah managed the group dynamics well, so that more dominant speakers didn’t overshadow others – she was super friendly and engaging, making sure everyone had the opportunity to contribute.”

💬“I found trying something different and being pushed out of my normal thinking patterns most useful… Now I see what I can get out of coaching, and it's exciting :)”

These words are more than testimonials—they're the basis for growth. As I look ahead, I’m excited to keep building on this foundation: to finish building hours towards my coach accreditation, expand collaborations, and continue creating spaces where growth for others feels safe, energising, and real.
